“Make like Sherman and start digging a path to the sea.” Those were A.’s first words to me at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Our dog, Gatsby, was patiently sitting with all fours paws crossed and her face pleading with us to HURRY!

So, needless to say, I spent most of my weekend snowbound. Boston is known for its overreaction to things. (Some might argue that started with the Tea Party, and most recently, the 2007 Bomb Scare.) So, it is only fitting that once word of the storm spread, people rushed out and cleaned out the supermarkets. (God forbid you get stuck in the house for a few days and don’t have a healthy supply of Entemann’s cake!) So, the folks at Universal Hub came up with the French Toast Alert System to let us know when we need to run to Stop & Shop and stock up on milk (Hood, of course), eggs, and bread.

However, in the midst of all the chaos and aftermath, the pictures are pretty amazing.

A. is still digging. Thankfully a neighbor with a snowplow came by and helped.

Now the fun part – how many babies will show up around nine months from now? And how many of those babies will grow up with a constant hankering for french toast?
